Passkey Authentication

The future is passwordless! Or at least with fewer passwords to remember using passkey authentication.

We all know passwords are a pain. They're hard to remember, easy to hack, and constantly need changing. It's time for something better, and that something is passkeys.

What is passkey authentication?

A passkey is a new, more secure way to sign in to websites, apps, and even your computer.  It works as a convenient and robust replacement for traditional passwords.

Simplified login: A passkey is stored securely on your device (like your phone or computer) and is unlocked using an authentication method like:

  • Fingerprint scan

  • Facial recognition

  • A PIN

Big tech companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft are all backing passkeys. This is the direction online security is moving.

How to Get Started with Passkeys!

While passkeys aren't universal yet, they're becoming more widely available. Here's how to join the revolution:

  1. Check Your Devices: Make sure your phone, laptop, or tablet has the latest operating system updates.

  2. Look for Passkey Support: Websites and apps are slowly adding passkey support.  Keep an eye out for "Sign in with passkey" options.

  3. Easy Setup: Setting up a passkey is usually pretty simple and guided by your device.
